Frequently Asked Questions

No, the only thing you need to do is place all hazardous waste together in the dedicated containers that Bywaters provides, ensuring that none of it goes into other waste streams. From here we will handle the separation of all the materials into individual streams post-collection at our facility and send the materials for recycling or recovery.

Bywaters can provide specialised training, but it is not essential to the provision of our hazardous waste services. We will provide relevant bespoke signage so that everyone on site is able to determine what materials to dispose of in your hazardous waste containers.

Our services provide information to all waste operatives explaining which materials are classified as hazardous waste and which onsite bins to use to dispose of certain items.

This depends on the nature of the waste that you are producing, but usually there will be no necessary protective clothing or equipment for handling hazardous waste. Often these items are everyday things like aerosols, paints, and some forms of batteries, so can be handled safely.

Our collection teams are prepared for all forms of hazardous waste, however. Bywaters personnel are always outfitted with uniform for their safety and take any other necessary safety precautions.
