How to recycle aerosol cans at home

Aerosol cans made from aluminium and tin-plated steel can be recycled using your traditional household recycling bins.

  1. Empty the contents of your aerosol cans.
  2. Remove all loose or removable parts i.e. The lid.
  3. Place your aerosol can in your household recycling bin or take it to your local recycling centre.

How to recycle aerosol cans for your business

  1. Check for a hazardous sticker. All hazardous aerosol cans should be recycled with hazardous waste.
  2. All non-hazardous aerosol cans should be recycled in Dry Mixed Recycling.
  3. Place empty canisters in your Dry Mixed Recycling.
