Safety First

With many of us returning to a new way of working, Bywaters would like to take this opportunity to reassure our customers of the additional safety measures we have undertaken to manage the new government guidelines.

Bywaters have been working hard to ensure we put safety first as we welcome back our staff to their daily working activities. From re-furbishing working areas to installing sanitisation stations across the building, each department has taken the time to implement government guidelines to ensure our staff’s safety is kept a priority at all times. We hope an insight into these new measures can not only reassure you of the safety controls in place to deliver compliant services, but also provide some working plans that can be replicated within similar offices or operational spaces.  As always, we remain on hand to provide waste management services and safety advice to implement new working spaces that meet your needs.

Logistics and Operations

Our operations team are the heart of our business, but they are also the most exposed. The transport team have refurbished their office to include window screens for drivers and logistics teams to conduct daily debriefs, whilst maintaining practical social distancing.  Operational teams have also undertaken additional COVID-19 training, including managing and identifying risk. Our customers can rest assured that each team member has been equipped with the necessary PPE to provide safe and practical collections on your behalf. This includes the provision of masks, gloves and sanitiser, as well as implementing a safe crew limit for each cab. To ensure that all working spaces represent the same hygiene standards, all crew members have received vehicle cleaning kits to manage and maintain in-cab hygiene.

Office Spaces

As we welcome back our customer services team to take your calls, we have also implemented several measures to prioritise their safety. All team members are required to keep 2 metres distance, this means desks and seating plans have been altered to allow for social distancing measures. Whilst we’ve limited access to communal seating spaces, staff welfare remains a priority. We have repurposed office spaces to make way for segregated canteen spaces as a way of minimising interaction.

Across all buildings and operational workplaces, hand sanitisers have been installed for appropriate hygiene practices, and where possible, we have also kept office doors open to minimise cross-contamination as well as implementing one-way walkway measures to reduce interaction.

Bywaters continue to monitor and adapt to changing working guidelines. If you have any questions regarding our safety and hygiene standards or need assistance in managing waste collections, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
