Monday 27th April 2009:
Bywaters will be helping the Recycling and Resource Management industry set best practice by collecting commingled dry recyclables in the exhibition hall during Futuresource. Commingled dry recyclables include all types of paper, cardboard, empty drinks cans, bottles and cartons, plastic and paper cups.
Bywaters' distinctive orange and silver dry recyclable and blue residual Resource containers will be clearly visible around the exhibition hall in line with Bywaters' ethos of 'making recycling easy'.
The dry recyclables collected will be taken to Bywaters' Recycling and Recovery Centre, less than two miles from Excel, in line with the proximity principle. Recyclables will be processed through Bywaters' Materials Recovery Facility, London's largest and most central undercover recyclables facility. The commingled materials will be separated into discreet material streams and sent to re-processors.
Bywaters is committed, where economically viable and environmentally acceptable, to find end markets for materials in the UK. Where this is not possible, materials are sent to European and Far Eastern markets using accredited partner organisations and ensuing best practice. Bywaters' materials movements are audited by the Environment Agency and also as part of Bywaters' ISO14001:2004 certified Environmental Management System.
