Bywaters played host to the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, London & Southern Counties Centre open meeting on 19th September 2008. The topic of this event was 'Whether recycling performance is enhanced by collection of co-mingled or segregated materials'.

Around 50 delegates attended the event, listening to presentations from a range of speakers from the private and public sectors, followed by a lively debate where delegates where able to question the panel of speakers. The day ended with a tour of our Materials Recovery Facility, London's largest undercover dry recyclables facility able to process 250,000 tonnes per annum.

The talks were all very informative and thought provoking. The tour was however the highlight of the day and I was amazed at the scale of your operation. As was mentioned on the day every MRF is different but I think it will be a long time before I see one that is as impressive as yours. close quote
