Home > News 2007 > Customers compliant with waste treatment requirements

12th September 2007:
The landfill legislation stipulates that from 30th October 2007 all waste must be treated to reduce its quantity and/ or its environmental impact before being disposed of in landfill sites. The Environment Agency is putting the onus on waste producers to treat waste at source or to pay a specialist to treat their waste for them.

Bywaters' customers using the Bycycler system are already treating their waste at source by segregating dry recyclables from residual waste.

Bywaters' Environmental Manager, Dr Alan Kirk states, "This is the route we recommend to our customers to meet the legislative requirements and also to improve their environmental performance but for those customers not yet segregating at source, we already treat the waste we collect from their sites at our waste transfer station so our customers have nothing to worry about."

For more information, please view the information on our Bycycler system or call us today.
