20th September 2004:
Following our calendar/art competition, which was organised in conjunction with Rosalind Glover and students from the University of Arts, the work developed was displayed at Bywaters Business Development Office in Stratford in a week-long exhibition, including a private viewing on the opening day on Friday 3rd September 2004. The project and final work developed focused on the individual's role in environmental issues and recycling.
Over 100 special guests of Bywaters and the artists were invited to a preview of The Soul of Ended Things. The event was a great success and was featured in a number of local papers including the local Guardian.
The exhibition was open to the general public until Saturday 11th September 2004. The art exhibition was organised by Rosalind Glover, Bywaters Transport Director Malcolm Glover's daughter, as part of her curating course at The University of Arts. The University of Arts is another customer of Bywaters'.
The artists produced a rich mix of different artworks including paintings, prints and installations showing very personal responses to environmental issues.
Twelve of the best works will form Bywaters' 2005 calendar. A wider selection of the artwork was for sale at the exhibition, some of which was purchased by Bywaters.
